Academician Wang Fosong, former Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pioneered fundamental research on conductive polyaniline in China.
Research Begins
Under the leadership of Dr. Wang Xianhong's team, the reversible redox characteristics of polyaniline anti-corrosion mechanisms were clarified, laying the foundation for its applications.
Commercialization
The first-generation polyaniline anti-corrosion technology was successfully developed and achieved outstanding application results in defense infrastructure and equipment, followed by demonstrations in highways, chemical plants and port facilities.
Maturity
The second-generation polyaniline anti-corrosion coating was completed in 2020, solving the challenges of high-purity polyaniline synthesis and high-efficiency dispersion, while reducing costs by 50% and maintaining long-term anti-corrosion performance.
